You run a small dumpling shop. Open the phone and you're at the bench, where a round of dough lies across both halves of the screen. Close it and you're at the counter, where your dumpling steams for the customer.
- Open
- The bench. Press and hold on the dough to pile on filling, aiming for the dashed ring.
- Bend a little, then open again
- One pleat. A soft click tells you you've bent far enough, so a shallow bend does it. Keep a steady rhythm and your pleats come out evenly spaced.
- Close
- Seal. The outer display shows your dumpling hop into a bamboo steamer on the counter. It steams for a few seconds and never overcooks.
- Turn the closed phone
- A quarter turn twists the top of a purse-style dumpling shut. You can also circle the knot with a finger.
- Open again
- Serve, and see your stamps for filling, pleat count and neatness.
Nine dumplings to learn in four folding styles, a ten-day season, fresh Daily Tickets every day, and twelve steamer baskets to collect. Nothing is timed and there's no fail screen: a burst or leaky dumpling still gets served, and the customer laughs.
Plays on every iPhone
On an iPhone that doesn't fold, a wooden fold tab on the screen does the folding. Drag it to the notch and let go to pinch a pleat, or drag it all the way to close. The recipes, stamps and collections are the same. On iPhone Duo you can turn the tab on as well, for one-handed play.
Private by design
Pleat & Steam collects no data. It has no account, ads, analytics or Game Center, and it never goes online. Your progress stays on your iPhone. Read the privacy policy.
